Designing a social product people could use without looking at a screen

Vyrb was a voice-first social audio application for staying connected through phones and wearables. Botmer handled product design and full-stack development, including the audio-led experience, voice commands, and Autoplay.

01 / Product idea

Social interaction designed to leave the phone in your pocket

Vyrb was created around a simple tension: social products keep people connected, but usually require continuous visual attention. The product explored another route by putting audio posts, messages, and navigation into a voice-led experience.

Innovative Eyewear positioned the application for connected wearables, including its Lucyd smart glasses, while still providing a visual mobile interface.

02 / The situation

An unconventional concept needed a complete product system

A hands-free social network could not simply reproduce a visual feed and add audio controls. The interaction model had to account for creating posts, hearing content in sequence, moving through messages, and managing settings without depending on the screen.

Botmer's supplied engagement scope covered the design and full-stack development needed to turn that concept into a working social application.

03 / Voice-first experience

Designing for listening, speaking, and staying present

The experience centred on audio posts and hands-free commands. Vyrb's public materials described using voice commands to create posts, check messages, and hear customised audio content.

Autoplay gave the product its own rhythm: users could move through feed or mailbox content as an audible sequence instead of repeatedly returning to a screen.

04 / Botmer's role

From product design through the full-stack build

Botmer's verified role covered product design, full-stack development, the audio-first experience, voice commands, and Autoplay. The work joined visible mobile flows with the product behaviour required for hands-free use.

No unverified frameworks, integrations, adoption metrics, performance gains, or funding outcomes are attributed to the engagement.

06 / How we worked

Keeping product and engineering inside one delivery path

Because the interaction model was central to the technical product, design decisions and full-stack delivery had to stay connected. Botmer carried both areas, supporting a consistent route from voice-led journeys into a functioning application.

07 / Historical status

Recording the public product history without overstating the present

Innovative Eyewear's SEC filing says Vyrb entered open beta on iOS and Android in December 2021. The current Apple listing remains accessible and shows version 1.05, released in January 2023.

The same 2023 filing described a fuller release as planned for 2024 after company resources shifted toward the Lucyd app. A current Vyrb Android listing or later full-release milestone could not be verified during this review, so the case study does not imply either.

08 / Supported outcomes

What the engagement produced and publicly demonstrated

The verified outcome was a designed and developed social audio product that reached public open beta and remains represented by an Apple App Store record.
